Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca has launched a fierce defense of the club’s legacy following the bombshell news of their Premier League guilty verdict. Despite the threat of expulsion looming over the Etihad, the Italian insists that the silverware won during his time at the club remains untarnished by off-field controversies.
Vincent Kompany has addressed the explosive guilty verdict surrounding Manchester City's long-running financial investigation, with the legendary former captain now facing the prospect of having his medal haul erased. The current Bayern Munich head coach spent over a decade at the Etihad Stadium and was the heartbeat of the side that dominated English football during the period under scrutiny.
Danny Mills has explained to GOAL why stripping Manchester City of titles and taking away medals in their 115-charge Financial Fair Play (FFP) case would be “pointless”. The former Blues star believes that trophy-related punishments, as appeals are lodged against initial guilty verdicts, would be “irrelevant” as memories of league and cup triumphs have already been made.
